Speakers Corner “In Conversation with…Sahah Hashemi” – Why large organisations should adopt the start-up mindset

She discusses what should be most important to an entrepreneur and looks at how the landscape is changing for larger businesses in a world of start-ups.

According to Sahar, the small and large business worlds are merging. As they are now operating in the same environment they are having to behave in similar ways. Larger organisations are learning from their smaller counterparts in order to remain relevant, adopting the start-up mentality of being agile, with a complete focus on the customer, while experimenting with products, services and strategies.

Sahar reveals that bigger businesses are having to act more like a start-up in order to maintain a closer relationship with customers and understand their needs. In doing so, some of the “myth” is stripped away and a company will appear to be approachable and more relatable.

Nick Gold, Managing Director of Speakers Corner, comments: “it was such great fun getting to sit down with some amazing people (and fantastic speakers) and shoot the breeze with them for the ‘In Conversation With…’ series. We had the chance to chat about their careers and lives, both through the kaleidoscopic of speaking as well as their personal experiences too, which was really a privilege. These are people that we, at Speakers Corner, have spent years developing relationships with and I thoroughly enjoyed being given the opportunity to explore and demonstrate the knowledge that they could bring to our client’s events. It was also heartening, and reflective, to hear about their thoughts on the speaking marketplace, the team at Speakers Corner, and how best our clients could utilise their individual expertise at any given event”.
