Strada launches lighter menu for summer: Italian restaurant group creates summer dishes for guilt-free dining
Strada, the contemporary Italian restaurant group, has launched a summer menu featuring lighter bites that will appeal to guests who wish to enjoy eating out while watching their waistlines.
The redesigned menu offers diners with smaller appetites a choice of lighter hand-stretched Pizzettas, which are half the size of Strada’s standard pizzas, come complete with a dressed side salad and have a calorie count of less than 600.
New Pizzetta varieties for this summer include the Asparagi, featuring lean cotto ham and asparagus, and the Pollo Sophia, which is scattered with spicy shredded chicken and roasted red pepper. The vegetarian Margherita Piccola, a smaller version of Strada’s classic pizza, is topped with melting mozzarella and finished with hand-torn fresh basil.
Also on offer is the new light salad selection: Insalate Strada, a blend of mixed leaves, Pachino tomatoes, black olives, broken focaccia croutons, shaved cheese and a drizzle of olive oil, with topping choices of grilled chicken, goat’s cheese, roasted vegetable or gamberoni. As for dessert, guests can beat this summer’s heat with a frozen treat, guilt-free, with Strada’s Peach and Yogurt Gelato, which comes with two creamy scoops and contains less than 2 ½ grams of fat.
Pop into Strada for a light bite and you could be rubbing shoulders with celebrity, too. Kate Moss was recently spotted eating in Strada in Highgate, London, where she posed for a photo with staff. Meanwhile, actress Kim Catrall, currently starring in Sweet Bird of Youth in the capital’s Old Vic theatre, recently told Sainsbury’s Magazine that Strada is one of her dining favourites.
Strada’s 69 restaurants across the UK have a reputation for serving simple, freshly prepared dishes that use only the finest ingredients.
