Special Forces charity Troop Aid will be hosting its annual ball at award-winning events venue the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.

Taking place on Saturday 23 November, the evening promises to be a special occasion with a four course dinner and performance from The Band of HM Royal Marines, all in the unique surroundings of the largest motorcycle museum in the world.

Established in 2006 by three ex-servicemen, Troop Aid provides injured soldiers returning to the UK with specially commissioned Grab Bags containing essentials such as clothes and toiletries. The ball will be an evening filled with celebration of the charity’s dedicated work, whilst also raising much needed funds to sustain the charity’s efforts to support injured soldiers.

Al Sutton from Troop Aid said: “The ball is the highlight of our events calendar and one not to be missed. The National Motorcycle Museum is a great venue and being able to look around the museum during the event is an added bonus for us.”

Nick Hartland, director of the National Motorcycle Museum, said: “We are delighted to welcome Troop Aid to our museum, it’s going to be a truly inspiring event and one not to be missed.”

Notes to editors

Troop Aid
Troop Aid was founded in November 2006 by three ex-servicemen, as a result of a visit to Selly Oak Hospital’s Alexandra Wing in Birmingham. This is the home of the Defence Medical Welfare Services who are responsible for the welfare of all Armed Forces Personnel, who have been injured during the conflict in Afghanistan and elsewhere. When injured troops return to the United Kingdom from war zones they arrive back without personal effects or clothing, the objective of Troop Aid is to support them by providing the basic essentials in their Grab Bags.
