Somerset House releases limited dates for the East Wing
Somerset House has announced that the East Wing of the building will be available to hire, for a limited time throughout November and December.
Set in the stately surroundings of Somerset House’s neo-classical courtyard, the East Wing, which has played host to past exhibitions including: Tim Walker: Story Teller, The Rolling Stones: 50 and most recently The Jam: About the Young Idea, can host up to 300 guests and is available for drinks receptions, product launches, press events and dinners, as well as dancing.
In time for the Christmas season, the private venue can accommodate a dinner or dinner dance for up to 48 guests, and receptions for up to 300 guests, with views across to the Edmond J Safra Fountain Court and London’s most glamorous outdoor ice rink. The collection of 10 interconnecting rooms can be hired for daytime and evening hire.
Emma Barrow, Head of Events at Somerset House, comments: “We are thrilled to have last minute availability of the East Wing during one of our busiest seasons. The space offers the flexibility of a blank canvas, easily transformed to fit an event’s unique requirements. Guests will also be able to experience private views and tours of current exhibitions held within Embankment Galleries and Terrace Rooms.
Dates for corporate hire of the East Wing are subject to availability and each package is quoted on a bespoke basis.
The distinguished space was refurbished in 2012, to remain in keeping with the historic setting of the building, yet incorporating a contemporary and urban element.
