The Global Conference Network has announced the official shortlist for its flagship event, the Conference Awards, which takes place on 3 July at The Hurlingham Club.

Now celebrating its sixth consecutive record-breaking year for entries and a firm fixture in the diaries of event professionals and conference organisers, the awards will commend best practice in hosting events, including outstanding development of existing conferences. Over 700 attendees are expected to attend the lunchtime ceremony.

The Energy Exchange (Clarion) and Fleming Europe are among the confirmed shortlisted entries in the “Best European Conference” category, whilst the likes of Incisive Media and IDG will vie for the trophy awarded to the “Best Conference Series”.

Winners will be selected from an experienced judging panel of sector experts and practitioners, including Ros Oxley, managing director at UKIE Informa, Susie Bacon, managing director at Capita Conferences, David Ball, CEO at Brandfuel, and Alex Whitson, director at Haymarket.

Rory Ross Russell, director and founding partner at the Global Conference Network, says: “There is an overwhelming recognition of our awards portfolio amongst industry professionals and this is reflected in the fierce competition this year. We are delighted to report record entry figures once again, featuring leading brands from within this growing sector. We have other initiatives that we will be launching in due course, helping to assert the Global Conference Network at the fore of the conference and events sector.”
