London caterers celebrate 100 years of Aston Martin with Centenary Celebration at Kensington Palace.

In the grand finale to a series of events marking the 100th Anniversary of the automotive giant’s foundation, the Aston Martin Owners Club (AMOC) has appointed Moving Venue to cater for 550 guests at Kensington Palace on Saturday 20th July 2013.

The London-based caterer has created a canapé menu to wow owners and enthusiasts in the culmination to a week of activities at Aston Martin’s Gaydon headquarters and the highlight of 2013’s calendar of centenary events. Guests will be welcomed to Kensington Palace on Saturday evening with flutes of Champagne, before Moving Venue’s brigade of waiting staff circulate to offer a selection of canapés served on themed trays including hub caps and scrolls of locomotive blueprints.

In honour of this landmark date, 100 iconic Aston Martins will be parked in chronological order along Kensington Palace’s Broadwalk. On the lawns in front of the Palace, 25 Le Mans cars and all the Aston Martins used in the Bond films over the past 50 years will be displayed, helping to tell the brand’s remarkable story and influence on popular culture, from 1913 to the present day.

Alongside head chef Steve Williams, canapé chef Mark Kaizer and team have created and selected bite-sized treats to offer a balance of flavours and textures. Hot dishes include ‘lobster and spinach spring roll, dolce forte sauce’ and ‘wild mushroom and apple risotto’. Guests will also be able to sample ‘teriyaki glazed smoked eel, blanched daikon croûte, yuzu cream’ and ‘crisp pancetta wafers, date purée, caramel’, while desserts include ‘passion fruit and lime tartlets’, ‘mini orange and raspberry brulée with cracked pistachio caramel’ and ‘cappuccino brownies’.

Moving Venue has created ‘The Centenary’ in celebration of 100 years of Aston Martin, a cocktail of gin with elderflower cordial, lemon and apple juice, topped with Champagne; the traditional ‘Brandy Sidecar’, an early-20th Century favourite of Cognac and Cointreau mixed with lemon juice and served with a twist, will also make an appearance.

Richard Beggs, managing director of Moving Venue, said: “We’re delighted to have been selected as the catering partner by AMOC for Aston Martin’s Centenary Celebration. We’ve put together a menu to reflect the company’s reputation for luxury and elegance, and we’re looking forward to celebrating this landmark date with such a treasured national brand.”
