The Mermaid grows team with three appointments
The Mermaid Conference and Events Centre has expanded its team with three new members of staff following recent business growth at the venue.
Glenn Mainwaring, previously sales and marketing manager at Searcys at the Barbican, joins The Mermaid as business development manager. His new role will see him oversee the business’ development strategies and lead innovation in order to improve The Mermaid’s market position and achieve financial growth. The business development team will be further strengthened by the recruitment of business development executive Melissa Spanton, previously sales executive at Clarion Events.
Also joining the team is Helen Coles as commercial manager on a consultancy basis. With over 20 years’ experience in the hotel and travel industry, Helen’s role will see her take charge of the venue’s sales and marketing strategy, with the aim of maximising all revenue opportunities.
Alicia Duncan, general manager of The Mermaid, comments: “The past year has been great for The Mermaid in terms of business growth, and it’s due to this success that we have expanded our team further. We are very pleased to welcome our new recruits and are confident that they will contribute to the ongoing success of the venue.”
