Lime Venue Portfolio, the UK’s largest collection of unique, unusual and sporting venues held its first venue showcase to an audience of more than 150 corporate meetings & events buyers and agencies at the Old Royal Naval College’s magnificent Painted Hall.

Guests had the opportunity to speak with representatives and familiarise themselves with the offerings of 36 of Lime Venue Portfolio’s national treasure houses and leisure destinations, iconic sporting stadiums as well as the UK’s major racecourses. Exhibiting venues included the Kia Oval, Edgbaston, Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Edinburgh Zoo, Dartmouth House, Stationers’ Hall, Museum of Science and Industry, Beaulieu, Kempton Park, Epsom Downs and Cheltenham Racecourses.

Many attendees enjoyed the opportunity to travel by Thames Clipper from the ExCel Arena and were greeted by Champagne on arrival and music from jazz trio Viva La Bop, acoustic guitarists Wandering Hands, and ‘mind reading and mentalism’ from magician Neb.

Lime Venue Portfolio indulged guests with a range of spectacular food stations including chilli and cracked black pepper squid rings in cones and a roast beef and honey roast ham carvery. The food experience was topped off by mini ‘pots of indulgence’ and ‘dry ice-cream’ made on the spot with carbon dioxide crystals.

“This was a showcase of spectacular proportions that clearly demonstrates that Lime Venue Portfolio has the best collection of unique venues in the UK. Excellent food – unrivalled locations and good company made for a very special evening.” Commented Nicky Traynor, commercial manager, NYS Corporate Ltd.

Gemma Wickens, corporate events account manager at Hospitality Line, said, “It was great to meet all of the venue contacts around the UK and sample some of the lovely cuisine.”

Jo Austin, head of sales, Lime Venue Portfolio, said, “We are delighted with the turnout and success of our inaugural showcase event, which shows the increasing preference of event bookers and buyers for unique venues.”

Jo added, “Following feedback from attendees whose time is very limited for site visits, it is clear that events like this allow them to meet key contacts and understand the unique features of each of the venues which are part of the portfolio, in just a few hours; consequently, we are already looking at hosting a similar event on annual basis.”

Lighting, AV and staging were supplied by MCL-AV, music and entertainment by Sternberg Clarke, furniture by Well Dressed Tables, bars by Bash Bars, flowers by Karen Woolven Floral Design, photography by Tavistock Photography, videography by The Dreamcatchers, London river transport by Thames Clippers and iPad’s supplied by Tablet-Rentals.
