Historic Royal Palaces celebrates success at Prestigious Star Awards 2016
Independent charity Historic Royal Palaces is celebrating picking up four awards at this year’s Prestigious Star Awards, which took place on Friday 16 September at 20 Cavendish Square in London.
The Prestigious Star Awards are the only global luxury venue awards and celebrate the quality, performance and reputation of the world’s best venues qualified to host the most memorable events.
20 venues from across the world were announced as winners on the night, with Historic Royal Palaces’ Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace and Banqueting House each collecting an award.
Kensington Palace was awarded the accolade of World’s Most Prestigious Venue, while Hampton Court Palace won Most Prestigious Private Dining Venue, and Banqueting House picked up the Most Prestigious Reception Venue. The latter was also highly commended in the Most Prestigious Gala Dinner Venue category.
The awards also featured speakers from notable international venues, who were invited to present a brief insight into one of their most successful events. Alex Donnelly-Palmer, Events and Operations Manager at Kensington Palace, discussed the Sentebale event, which took place at the palace in June in conjunction with Coldplay and HRH Prince Harry, and subsequently won the Creative Platform award.
Liz Young, Head of Events at Historic Royal Palaces, said: “To win four Prestigious Star Awards is just fantastic, and the fact that the winners are decided by a public vote makes these awards even more special. We are hugely proud of our venue teams and are delighted to have been recognised among the world’s best venues qualified to host memorable events.”
Habib Amir, Global Managing Director, Prestigious Venues, said:
“Our network of event bookers have been truly impressed with all 3 of the winning Historic Royal Palaces venues. All received incredible endorsements as they bring something unique to the global luxury events space. Kensington Palace has the location, opulence and reputation of a truly prestigious venue. Having played home to kings and queens, Hampton Court Palace provides one of the most spectacular settings for private dining. Whereas, the combination of characterful and enchanting event spaces makes Banqueting House a magnificent venue for upscale receptions in the heart of London. Their teams are outstanding and we feel they are ultimately the real strength behind Historic Royal Palaces’ consistent performance this year.”
