“Having the right training strategy in place drives innovation and secures talent”
Find out how as Annabel Dunstan reveals the seven steps to attracting and retaining the best at Conference Summit 2013
Annabel Dunstan, co-founder of Question & Retain, recommends training as a key factor to retaining the best talent, ahead of her talk at the Conference Summit 2013.
The former managing director of 3 Monkeys Communications, an award winning PR consultancy, will be speaking at the Conference Summit to be held at etc.venues’ Dexter House, London, on 6 December, focusing on strategies for growth and development in the conference and events industry.
As a specialist in measuring and managing employee behaviour, Dunstan emphasises the importance of training not only as a key motivator, but also as a technique to create “building blocks for loyalty and increased productivity.” Training should be a recognised means of keeping the best talent, Dunstan notes, “ambitious employees have a great desire to retain their competitiveness in the job market at all times and so, if you’re not growing your talent, they will be tempted to look elsewhere.”
Focusing on attracting the best talent, Dunstan advises that every conference and events company should be clear about their mission statement and values, creating a culture candidates want to be a part of. Social media can be a vital recruiting tool when used correctly; employers should avoid mass broadcasting to all possible candidates and instead “narrow the parameters and seek to encourage engagement via a two-way conversation, building a relationship with talent appropriate for the company’s brand.”
Dunstan will be sharing her seven steps to attracting and retaining the best talent, as well as her views on making a career in the events industry an attractive choice.
