The Grand switches on festivities for Brighton
Call for community to celebrate sea-front switch on
The Grand, Brighton is to mark the start of Brighton’s Christmas, with a carol concert and festive light switch-on, taking place from 6pm on the 26 November.
The local community will be drawn together as the hotel welcomes The Pop School & Stage Academy from 6pm, who will perform a series of festive carols. Spiced mulled wine and freshly baked, warm mince pies will also be available for purchase on the evening. The celebrations will culminate with the countdown to the façade of the hotel being lit. Setting the scene for Christmas will be a child from the local Rockinghorse Children’s Charity who will be given the opportunity to switch on the fantastic light display at the iconic venue.
The charity was set up with the aim to make life better for children with serious or life-threatening illnesses across Sussex and Surrey, and also stands as the fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital. Funds and donations will be raised on the night through a raffle, which will feature prizes including a Luxury Spa Day, Afternoon Tea and Dinner in GB1 Restaurant.
Andrew Mosley, General Manager at The Grand, says: “Our Christmas lights switch-on marks the start of the festivities. This year we have more lights than ever before, so we are very excited to welcome guests to the hotel, whilst raising money for a charity that is very close to our hearts.”
The Grand, Brighton is an iconic and luxury boutique hotel situated on Brighton’s famous sea-front. Designed and built in 1864, the historical hotel is a true example of Italian influence in Victorian architecture.
