Directors throw their dough around: Strada’s head office goes back to the floor in Cardiff
The head office team from Strada will be going to Cardiff on Friday 12th July in a further commitment to the Italian restaurant group’s support for Red Nose Day.
Strada’s Cardiff restaurant was part of an initiative across the collection of 69 restaurants to see who could raise the most money on Red Nose Day (15th March 2013). The winning restaurant was afforded the guilty pleasure of a rare Friday night off with the head office team taking to the helm.
CEO John Derkach, managing director Nick White, executive chef Nicola Tortorelli, director of marketing Hilary Mendelson, and other directors from the group will oversee the running and cooking at the city centre 240 seater restaurant in a real-time ‘back to the floor exercise’.
Strada restaurants collectively raised nearly £30,000 on Red Nose Day with just over 10% coming from Cardiff’s generous customers and staff. A newly launched menu which features bold, fresh flavours will keep the team on their toes as they bring back their learned skills and crafts.
Imogen Lees, general manager of Strada in Cardiff, said: “Friday night will be great fun, having the head office team away from the confines of their desks, crafting pizzas and waiting on tables. Our service levels are very much about personal service, and it’s brilliant that John, Nick and team are so willing to roll their sleeves up. At the end of the day; had our customers not been so generous, we’d never have got this opportunity – or a Friday night off!”
Strada is a group of contemporary Italian restaurants with 69 sites across the UK, serving simple, Italian dishes that are prepared to order and use the finest and freshest ingredients.
