On Wednesday 11th to Friday 20th September 2013, 23 Frith Street in London’s Soho will see the launch of CIAO CHOW CANINE BAKERY, London’s first ever pop up bakery for dogs featuring canine patisseries and a collection of chic accessories for dogs and their patrons.

‘In response to years of Frappucino envy London dogs have been campaigning for café of their own.’ Says Mark Watty, who developed the concept with Piper Skillman.  ‘No longer will they be ignored, leashed to a lamppost (or worse yet, confined to a handbag) while their caregivers scoff biscotti and swill skinny lattes. Dogs in the know will be making tracks for Ciao Chow Canine Bakery.’

Discerning pooches will soon be able to choose from a range of treats tailored to all breeds and stages in a dog’s life. All to be served in an interior reminiscent of a vintage Italian bakery somewhere between Palermo and NYC’s Little Italy with a dash of ‘The Godfather’ and a good helping of ‘Roman Holiday’.

According to research, the path to happiness is owning a pet so it’s no wonder that our pampering them is fast becoming a national past time (PFMA)*.  With over 8m* pet dogs in the UK, Euromonitor International predicts that sales of dog treats will be worth around £582 million by the end of this 2017.

CIAO CHOW PATISSERIES

The treats are geared towards a dog’s taste preferences, informed by nutritional benefits and common allergies.

TIME TO SHINE promotes a glossy coat.

YUMMY TUMMY aids digestion.

MAKE MINE MINT freshens breath.

While others just taste mighty nice!

CIAO CHOW ACCESSORIES

A selection of bespoke accessories has been designed for dogs with attitude and their hip owners. Say goodbye to tiaras and hello to a bold and graphic black and white. From the practical but beautiful Ciao Chow dog bowl to more quirky items such as zodiac collar charms, Ciao Chow will appeal to dog lovers of all shapes and sizes. The pop up bakery will launch concurrently with ‘Shop Ciao Chow’, an online store featuring a capsule collection of collars, leashes, bowls as well as a range of clothing featuring Ciao Chow’s monochromatic stripes and iconic bone motif.
