The Brewery ends on a summer high
The Brewery, the Grade-II listed events venue in Chiswell Street, London, saw its most successful summer season, with significant increases in delegate attendance and event bookings.
Following the popularity of last year’s pop-up garden, The Brewery doubled their outdoor event space with the addition of a second marquee. This contributed to more summer parties and higher occupancy for outdoor events, while revenue secured from marquee summer events rose by 159%.
Between 1 May and 31 August, the unique space hosted 109 events, up 43% on 2014, and welcomed 3,388 summer party guests. The extra marquee also proved a great success with non-summer party events. The number of delegates utilising the space for awards dinner drinks and conference lunches saw attendance more than double to 18,361 visitors.
Situated in the venue’s outdoor cobbled courtyard, the pop-up facilities were constructed with a clear roof to take advantage of the summer weather, the interiors were decorated with greenery, floral arrangements, artificial grass and comfortable outdoor seating.
Simon Lockwood, creative director at The Brewery added: “We decided this summer to maximise our courtyard and built a second, slightly smaller pop-up garden. For a venue of our size in the city, we’re lucky to have such a large outside space, and once again, it proved a great triumph. Not only did we see an increase in summer parties, but private dinners and conference lunches proved particularly popular with delegates taking advantage of our summer picnic menus for alfresco events.”
