Auberge du Lac introduces deconstructed Afternoon Tea menu
Auberge du Lac, the destination restaurant located within the grounds of the Brocket Hall estate in Welwyn, is launching eclectic Afternoon Tea Thé du Lac on 1 May 2014.
Thé du Lac has been developed by the restaurant’s chef consultant Anthony Demetre and will include a range of international teas by The Rare Tea Company. Served in tasting cups and infused in contemporary china, guests will be able to taste teas such as Deconstructed English Breakfast – a small cup each of light and fragrant Indian black tea, 2nd Flush Darjeeling; and a deep, malty African Lost Malawi tea. Teas will be matched to each course.
Menu items include quail egg, summer truffle and cress sandwich; scones with Auberge clotted cream and strawberry soup with Moroccan mint; and a selection of cakes such as raspberry millefeuille with Earl Grey mousseline.
Thé du Lac Afternoon Tea is priced at £35.00 per person. Tables will be available every Tuesday to Saturday from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm throughout the summer months until September.
Guests can choose to dine in Auberge du Lac’s main dining area or on the restaurant’s patio, which has views across the 543 acre estate.
