With Historic Royal Palaces having experienced a 15% year on year increase in total events over the last three years, alongside an approximate 20% increase in income, the organisation recognised a need to expand the events team to support and further increase this growth over the next few years.

Heather has a background in unique and historic venues, having previously worked at Royal Museums Greenwich as Event Sales and Business Development Officer, and English Heritage. In her new role at Historic Royal Palaces, Heather will be responsible for working with Business Development Manager Milan Thakrar and Liz Young, Head of Events, to deliver a pro-active sales strategy for the commercial events business across the six palaces. She will be required to pro-actively market, sell and promote the functions and events offer across the Historic Royal Palaces portfolio and build relationships with third parties to increase new and repeat business.

Additionally, Heather will support the events teams across all of the palaces to achieve their annual targets, while also working with the BDM and palace Event Managers to develop the events offer across all six palaces, maximising revenues and providing the exacting five-star service to customers that Historic Royal Palaces is known for.

Milan Thakrar, Business Development Manager, Commercial Events at Historic Royal Palaces, says: “We are delighted to have Heather on-board as we look to build on our fantastic achievements to date, and further consolidate Historic Royal Palace’s reputation in the events sector as the go-to venues for high-quality, one-of-a-kind occasions. Heather brings with her a wealth of experience in this sector, and we look forward to her valuable contribution to further grow the commercial events business in the years to come.”
