Fast Forward 15 mentees and Smart Works host a night of nostalgic 80s fun in celebration of International Women’s Day

Guests are invited to dust off their shoulder pads and pick up the hairspray as Fast Forward 15 takes attendees back to the 80s for a night of nostalgic fun. The evening will champion women in business by celebrating their past and looking forward to a prosperous future.

Developed by the participants of Fast Forward 15 in response to a challenge set by Fay Sharpe, the initiatives’ founder, the task has been designed to test event organising skills, foster a sense of teamwork and highlight the importance of social awareness in professional life.

Jackie Boughton, head of business events at Barbican commented, “Fast Forward 15 is all about giving back and an 80s night is the perfect way to celebrate, empower and inspire women in business.”

Lucy Anstie, a FF15 mentee says, “Women in the 80s pushed for change; they were fearless and bold. We’re excited to celebrate an iconic era of female history while enjoying an evening of music and entertainment with friends, colleagues and the wider industry.”

Fay Sharpe, Fast Forward 15 founder added, “This task was designed to encourage our mentees to think outside the box, challenge themselves and put what they’ve learnt from the course into practice, and that’s exactly what they have done. Our mentees have pulled together to meticulously plan every element of the evening and all alongside their regular day jobs, a huge achievement. I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic night and a fitting way to celebrate International Women’s Day.”

Back in the Game is aimed at young professionals across London and the Home Counties with tickets priced at £15 per person, which includes exciting catering, fantastic games, a live DJ and surprises announced on the night. A raffle will also be conducted on the night, with prizes generously donated by The Grand Hotel Brighton, The V&A, Barbican and many more. This year will see weekend retreats, yoga classes and luxury dinners all up for grabs.

Tickets to Back in the Game can be purchased here with all funds going to Smart Works and Fast Forward 15. The evening will also be supported socially on Twitter, with guests encouraged to engage and interact with #FF15 #fearless
