"Hosting the Young British Foodies Awards resulted in wide media coverage"

Task

Our brief has been to publicise the launch of Tanner & Co, an innovative all-day dining and event space, located at the heart of London’s popular gastro destination, Bermondsey Street.

Tanner & Co is the first in a planned series of venues across the capital from parent company Camm and Hooper, part of Imbiba.

Action

We worked with the Camm and Hooper team for the six months prior to the launch, looking for high-profile opportunities to showcase the new opening.

We arranged for the venue to host the Young British Foodies Awards – which spotlight grassroots talent in the food and drink world – in September 2013.

We targeted interiors editors with stories about the venue’s recommissioned design, while press reviewers were invited to exploit angles focused on the menu.

By placing emphasis on encouraging activity among bloggers and social media users, we ensured that the venue was ingrained in the consciousness of the local community.

Results

Reviews in the Evening Standard, Metro, Square Meal, Talk Business and the South London Press have positioned the restaurant firmly on London’s culinary scene.

The Sun’s Sunday supplement, Fabulous Magazine, used the venue as the location for a dating feature.

The restaurant hosted the Young British Foodies Awards in September 2013 which resulted in substantial national print and TV coverage.
