The doctorate underscores what has been a hugely successful year for Fay, having recently been announced as ‘Mentor of the Year’ at the Shine Award as well as receiving M&IT’s illustrious ‘Personality of the Year’ award, the only recipient to have won twice in the 30 year history of the distinguished awards.

Fay Sharpe, Founder of Fast Forward 15 and Vice President BCD Meetings & Events EMEA commented, “I am truly honoured to receive this prestigious accolade and would like to thank all those who helped make the initiative what it is today. When I founded Fast Forward 15 back in 2015, my aim was to give something back to the industry which I love so much and now, 4 years on, I am absolutely astounded to have been recognised for my contribution.

“The programme would be nothing without the dedication and hard work of our fantastic mentors who volunteer their time to guide our aspiring female leaders and for that I am hugely grateful. I’m also extremely lucky to receive such strong support from BCD M&E and all my colleagues there. I look forward to many more years working with the industry’s female talent and helping them to achieve their goals.”

Fast Forward 15 is now in its 4th year and has a stellar line up of mentors drawn from high profile organisations associated with the business of events. Previous mentees have achieved many major personal and career milestones including promotions, large scale speaking opportunities and international career moves.
