Triggerfish’s first Christmas Adventure at Somerset House
The winter wonderland entrance, 40ft Christmas tree and luminous ice rink made the party feel really festive. The event ran to perfection, from the welcoming front of house staff signing guests in on tablets, to the beautiful projection displayed on the neo-classical building before the rink opened, along with the live brass band, who helped set the party atmosphere with their upbeat and festive set.
This year, the rink is sponsored by Coach, and the branding was fantastic: foam-shaped handbags floated skywards, Coach luggage tags hung from the Christmas tree and the ‘red carpet’ was set against a backdrop of handbags frozen in ice blocks. We took to the rink early on in the evening, and spotted celebs including Lilly Cole, Kaya Scodelario and Henry Holland having fun on the ice.
The service was exceptional, with constant attention paid to our rapidly emptying glasses. Staff offered chilled champagne, delicious looking festive cocktails or hot mulled wine. The canapés were well executed with a range of savoury bites which included ‘mini sausage and mash’, ‘goats cheese & red pepper tartlets’ and mini fish and chips’ – which were our favourites! Gourmet bowl foods were also available. We tried ‘the warming, truffle-infused mac ‘n’ cheese, but didn’t manage to get our hands on the fantastic-smelling beef fillet because it was flying off the trays! Later on in the evening, we couldn’t resist the custard-filled doughnuts, chocolate brownies and pecan pies – all in miniature.
